3rd July 2004
Thank God that its weekends again. I started off the week with an end in mind. Work was kind of boring but doesn’t matter. It’s Saturday!! I had to go church early to practice drums. The thrill of playing in the sanctuary was there. The drum set was a lot better! Anyway, the self-practice was quite fun but it made me realized how bad my drumming was. It was my fault actually for not practicing constantly. Bleah
Ivan came awhile later. I was hoping that he could come earlier cuz I could not find the switch to the air-con. He played some Planet Shakers’ song in which I tried to play along. I sounded very off so after awhile, I began to play with my own rhythm and just use the song to keep track of my tempo.
Worship for today was quite messy. There was some mis-com among the worship team members due to some last minute changes. I think we should increase the practice time to at least one and a half hours instead of one. An amateur like me requires more time to practice.
After worship, sat with joash and I think Edwin. It was quite fun sitting beside both of them. I was looking for Keith but he seemed to have disappeared. Joel Yong offered to teach me drums after 20th July 2004. I am declaring it here to make people who read this blog my witness. Joel, its too late to take back ur words now. Haha
My CG almost had full attendance! Becca was the only one that wasn’t here. Ivan was early for discussion today for the first time. Doreen says he’s trying to fit into the CG now and by coming early, which is really a good start. (I meant what I said) * applause* CG time however was exceptionally quiet. Doreen shot a lot of tough questions at us, which no one could really answer. We talked about the phase change in our CG. At first was wad we call the honeymoon period, then followed by the enemy period. The outcome of both phases will definitely make us stronger. All of us were pondering on whether are we on the third stage already, after the splitting of CG or are we back to square one. The new CG now seemed quite peaceful with one another; as in all of us know each other pretty well already so I dun think there will be much conflict. We are going to have some followup cum fellowship time every Wednesday but it will be in ACJC, which I don’t think I can go.
1) I got attachment on which ends around 6pm
2) I dun have a uniform to go in
Actually, the second reason can be arranged but it just doesn’t seemed right to wear another school’s uniform.
After YF, I stayed back for a talk by Pastor Dave. I dun agree with everything that he says but ya, some of them made absolute sense. During this talk, I sat beside Nicholas and Josia. Nicholas was quite entertaining I must say. I drew a very long line on his right thigh, and then he joined it up to form a weird looking triangle. I dunno why he did that for but it made him look rather spastic. Throughout the talk, he seemed to be totally mesmorised by this triangle. Josia on the other hand was kind of attentive (I think he is), he might be acting, but it looks pretty convincing. Pastor dave mentioned something about worshipping. We should always remember not to worship in a way that will cause others to lose their focus. I thought that statement should be highlighted and highly emphasized (dun ask me y).
The talk ended at around 7.45pm. Nicholas tried to look for people to walk home with him but ended up going back alone. He claimed that he wasn’t afraid to go home alone so ya. Dun have to tell me that so many times. We all know the truth! Haha
Went to toa payoh awhile with Shufen and the rest cuz I didn’t want to go home so early. While waiting for Ian Yiming and Alden who were playing Daytona, we went to NTUC to shop. I bought two chocolates for my Pet frog – Daniel Loke. Both chocolates had the design of a frog so I thought it would be quite cool to get it for him. Sent shufen home after that.
On our way back, I think I talked too much. She got this “he talked too much” look on his face. A few times she wanted to talk but I went on and on and on. I should really try to listen rather than talk next time. Something that I should learn! She told me that I caused her mum to worry a lot before the camp because I had problems travelling to Malacca. Felt really bad after that.
That’s about for Sat.
4th July 2004
Came to church early and was greeted by some timmies who sat on the bench outside the sanctuary. Man! That felt really good! Worship was great and sermon was cool too. Elder Alick Loke preached for the first time. It was pretty impressive for a first timer. Sat beside Edwin and he made me sit at a corner with a wall in front of me. I find it quite irritating cuz I felt as though im being compressed (dunno how to describe the feeling). I talked to Edwin a lot during the service and best of all; we had chocolates to keep us awake. Edwin offered me his mentos but when I reached out my hands, he put it in his mouth. Bleah
Had our lunch at long john silver. I didn’t want to go there because I am very sick of fast food but there’s no other place that offers both cheap and nice food (aircon too). The chicken there was horribly small. I wasn’t very pleased with it so I said aloud, “I think the guy gave me the wrong order. I didn’t ask for chicken nuggets!”
Went to meet up with the girls awhile then I went shopping with Trisha to buy Edwin’s present. We walked like from Orchard to Topman, Topman to Esprit, Esprit to Guess, Guess to Topman again. In the end, we bought him something there (topman). The shirt was not fantastic but its very Edwin I reckoned. Somehow choosing a shirt for Calvin is simpler (more varieties). As for Edwin, he likes only those plain design which has that simple feel. We went around looking for those shirts that have a more Uncle feel, hoping to find a shirt that is really suitable for him.
Went home to change after that for soccer. I thought of going cycling with Nicholas awhile before playing soccer but I went back late (so did he). Soccer was interesting. I forgot to do stretching so had cramps all over after like fifteen minutes. My ankle was still green due to my previous injury during church camp. Heck everything and continued to play as defender. I switched places with Ian as goalkeeper and managed to score a goal but it was an own goal though. So much for that, I guess I deserved it. Had been suaning Ian about it ever since the last time we played at NIE.
After playing for 2 plus hours, we went for dinner. Pastor dave invited us to his place to watch soccer together but we never really give a definite reply. During dinner time, all of us had a change of plans and are going to Shufen’s place instead. All went back to bathe first while Shufen Yiming and me went to buy some tidbits for the match tonight. We bought 3 boxes of tidbits with chocolates. YUMMY!
Took a bath and went straight to Shufen’s place.
will update the rest of it later. haha. lunch time!
